The Decisions Hub
Where every decision in a Brainstorm is recorded, with its source in the conversation and who contributed.
What it is
A Brainstorm is a workspace for working through one decision or initiative with a chosen set of people. Every Brainstorm has a Decisions Hub: a list of the decisions made in it. Each entry records the decision itself, the point in the conversation where it was made, and the people who contributed to it. A decision is never just a line in a list. The reasoning stays attached to it.
When a Brainstorm is finished, its Decisions Hub stays. You can search it, and anyone who joins later can read what was decided and why.
How a decision gets recorded
You record it. When the conversation reaches a conclusion, record it as a decision rather than leaving it in the thread. Decisions that stay in the thread get lost.
XO records it. XO is the AI assistant inside WethosAI. If you turn on XO Facilitator in a Brainstorm, XO notices when a discussion has reached a decision and records it. It also points out when the discussion has moved on without answering a question.
A Simulation produces it. A Simulation is a Brainstorm that AI participants run before the real people join. It produces decisions, each with its reasoning laid out from the first disagreement to the conclusion. When the Simulation becomes an ordinary Brainstorm, those decisions are already in the Decisions Hub, so your people start from a record rather than a blank page.
Decisions made in Breakouts
A Breakout is a smaller discussion inside a Brainstorm. Each Breakout has its own Decisions Hub. To see the Breakouts' decisions in the main Brainstorm as well, turn on Show Descendant Decisions. The main Brainstorm then holds the complete picture.
Reading a decision
Open a decision to see the part of the conversation that led to it and the people who contributed. If the decision came from a Simulation, you can follow its reasoning to see what was argued and what was set aside.
You can also ask XO about the record:
- "Which decision in the Decisions Hub rests on the least evidence?"
- "Write up this decision, the reasoning, and the disagreements, so that someone who was not here understands why we made it."
- "Which of these decisions would I want to revisit if the third-quarter numbers come in low?"
- "Which decisions have we made without assigning an owner?"
Why it matters
Most decisions are made in conversation and remembered differently by everyone who was there. The Decisions Hub keeps each decision attached to the conversation that produced it. The reasoning survives the meeting, any disagreement is on the record, and the next decision can build on this one.
