The Hidden Trillion-Dollar Tax on Your Balance Sheet: Fixing Organizational Friction
58:10/May 18, 2026

The organizational friction quietly draining the balance sheet, and how to fix it.
Stuart McClure, founder and CEO of WethosAI, joins a Conference Board conversation hosted by Rita Meerson to argue that organizational friction, slow decision-making, and "alignment theater" act as a hidden trillion-dollar tax on companies. Drawing on his cybersecurity background, he explains how WethosAI maps over a hundred behavioral traits and more than 120 cognitive biases to build a Cognitive Twin of each person, distinguishing it from world models and digital twins by modeling the inside of the mind rather than the physical world. Live platform demos show how simulated brainstorms and decision sessions run stakeholder viewpoints ahead of meetings, document decisions and accountability, apply institutional guardrails like mission and values, and support red-teaming and Monte Carlo scenario testing to shorten meetings. He also frames Daniel Kahneman's System 1 and 2 alongside his own "System 3" thinking, and stresses that humans must stay in the loop given AI hallucination rates and its lack of real-world wisdom, accountability, and originality.
